Even in summer it is not too hot with the gloves.

By the way, you can wash them in the washing machine at about 30 degrees.

I myself am convinced of them, Allahumma barik!

Tip : If you want to remain inconspicuous but still want to cover your hands, you can wear gloves in the colour cream, mocha or dark brown (depending on your skin colour).

Why wear gloves?

Shaykh al-Munāğid said:

“The correct view is that a woman must cover her entire body, even her face and hands. Imām Aḥmad said that even the woman’s fingernails are ‘awrah and this is also the view of Imām Mālik.”

Shaykh al-Islām ibn Taymiyyah (raḥimullāh) said:

“It seems that it is the opinion of Aḥmad that every part of the body is ʿAwrah, even the nails, and this is also the view of Mālik.” (Majmū' al-Fatāwā, 22/110)

Shaykh ibn Taymiyyah further said:

“The correct opinion of the Hanbal and Malik schools of law is that it is obligatory to cover everything except one or two eyes in order to see the way.” (Ḥijāb wa Safur p. 10)

It was narrated from Imām Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal that he said:

“The fingernails of a woman are ʿAwrah, so when she leaves the house she should not show anything of herself. She should not even show her leather socks, because the leather socks show the shape of the feet.” (al-Furuʾ 1:601)

Al-Ḥafidh ibn al-Qayyīm al-Jawziyyah, who belonged to the school of Imām Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal, said the following about the female ʿAwrah:

“ʿAwrah is divided into two types: the ʿAwrah in prayer and the ʿAwrah in looking. A woman may pray with her hands and face uncovered, but she may not appear in the market or in gatherings like that. (i.e. it is not permissible for the woman to go out with her face and hands uncovered.)” (Tahdhīb as-Sunan and Iʿlam al-Muwaqicīn 2:80)

Ibn Taymiyyah said:

“The word ‘jilbāb’ is a cloth that Ibn Mas’ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) described as a cloak that covers the entire body including the head, face and hands. Therefore, it is not permissible for a woman to show her face and hands in public.” (Fatāwā Volume 2, p. 110)

According to the Hanbalī school of law and the correct view of the Shāfiʾī school of law, she should cover her face and palms in front of strange men, as this is part of ʿAwrah.” (Islamweb Fatwā no. 81554)

Furthermore, it was recorded by Imām ash-Shirbinī in al-Mughnī al-Muhtāğ that Imām as-Subkī said:

“…a woman’s face and hands are ‘Awrah when looking, but not when praying.”

Imām as-Subkī also followed the school of law of Imām ash-Shāfiʾī.

Imām Muḥammad aṣ-Ṣanaʿnī (also a follower of Shāfiʾī fiqh) also stated that a woman does not have to cover her hands or face during prayer. But what if a woman is outside of prayer and strange men look at her?

In this case, Imām aṣ-Ṣanaʿnī says:

“When a man looks at a woman, every part of her body is part of the ʿAwrah.” (Subul as-Salām Sharḥ Bulūgh al-Marām)

Anwār ʿAlī Ādam al-Mazahirī said in one of his fatāwā the following:

“Imām Shāfiʾī, Imām Mālik and Imām Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal are of the opinion that the niqāb (the complete covering of the face and hands with a small slit for the eyes through which one can see) is obligatory (fard). Imām Abū Ḥanifa says that the niqāb is wajib and that the face and hands may be visible provided there is no fear that the sight of the female face is attractive. If there is the slightest chance that lust will arise in the viewer (by lust we mean that the viewer sees the female face and thinks that she looks beautiful; this does not mean sexual thoughts), then it is harām (forbidden) for the woman to show her face and hands.”

"The scholars have long confirmed their statements that a Muslim woman must cover her face and hands when there is a risk of fitnah (temptation). Fitnah (temptation) means when the woman looks beautiful, or when immorality has become widespread, or when the lewd people have become widespread."

(Islamweb Fatwā No. 81554)

So it can be concluded that according to the madhāhib, it is best for the Muslim woman to cover her face and hands. The most correct view of the Mālikī, Ḥanbalī and Shāfiʾī schools of law is that full-body veiling (including face and hands) is obligatory and according to the Ḥanafī school of law, it becomes obligatory when fitnah arises and, as stated in Chapter 4, even at the time of Ibn Nujaym, who was a scholar of the Ḥanafī school of law, the fitnah was so great that the niqāb became obligatory.

So, in general, most scholars consider the niqab to be fard (obligatory) and this is the most correct opinion in terms of Qur'an and Sunnah. One must understand that the face is the part of the body that people look at first and therefore it is a great fitnah.

The Ṣaḥābī (companion of the Prophet Muḥammad ṣalla-llāhu ʿalaihi wa salām) Ibn ʿAbbās (raḍiallāhu ʿanhu) was also of the opinion that the niqāb is fard, because he said:

“Allāh has commanded us that when a woman leaves her house in necessity, she should cover her face from the top of her head with a jilbāb and only one eye should be shown.” [Tafsīr Ibn ʿAbbās; Sūra 33:59]

And who understood Islam best after the Prophet (ṣalla-llāhu ʿalaihi wa salām)? His companions!

May Allah, may He be exalted and glorified,

guide us all and give us a correct understanding of Islām āmīn.

{O Prophet! Tell your wives, your daughters and the women of the believers to draw down part of their cloaks over themselves, so that they will be recognized and not molested. For Allah's forgiveness and mercy are infinite.} (33:59)
